St. Joseph’s Day is a cherished celebration at our Home, as we proudly bear his name and strive to embody his values of humility, kindness, and unwavering faith. St. Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus and the patron saint of workers and families, is revered for his dedication to serving God and providing for his family with unwavering love and devotion.
Our celebration began with a beautiful Mass led by Bishop David J. Malloy of the Rockford Diocese, setting a reverent and joyous tone for the day. Residents, staff, and visitors gathered to honor the legacy of St. Joseph, seeking his intercession and reflecting on his virtues.
Following the Mass, our Residents eagerly looked forward to the highlight of the day—the grand feast of St. Joseph! Residents graciously invited employees to share in a spectacular meal featuring ribs, chicken, loaded potatoes, and an assortment of other delicious dishes. Our dining rooms were adorned with tables full of mouthwatering desserts, lovingly prepared by our Kitchen, Employees, Volunteers, Apartment Residents, and Sisters. Bishop Malloy blessed these sweet treats, adding a sacred touch to an already special day.
The warmth of companionship, the sound of laughter, and the shared appreciation for St. Joseph’s legacy made this day unforgettable. We are immensely grateful for our community, whose love and dedication continue to enrich the lives of all at St. Joseph’s Home.
