Association Jeanne Jugan
The Association Jeanne Jugan (AJJ) actively seeks interested Catholic men and women to join our St. Joseph’s Home family by:
- sharing in the spirituality of the Little Sisters of the Poor
- participating in the Little Sisters’ mission of hospitality
- helping to spread the charism of St. Jeanne Jugan in our community
After a year of spiritual preparation, new members are inducted into the Association Jeanne Jugan on May 1, the Feast of St. Joseph, patron of the Little Sisters of the Poor.
AJJ activities at St. Joseph’s Home include:
- volunteering in the Home
- visiting Residents who are hospitalized, room-bound or in need of special attention
- participating in periodic spiritual events, such as retreats and prayer services

Lend a Helping Hand and Volunteer
Our Little Sisters and staff do all that they can for the elderly Residents in our Home, but a visit from you would truly brighten the day of our St. Joseph’s Home family members.
Whether you volunteer to assist our Residents at mealtimes or stroll with one of them in our garden while listening to their life experiences, your presence touches the elderly who live here.
By volunteering you will experience happiness yourself as you offer the Residents companionship and joy!
Current Volunteer Needs:
- Assisting with serving Residents’ meals.
- Accompanying a Resident to and from medical appointments.
- Driving Residents to and from medical appointments.
- Helping in the kitchen and the laundry
- Assisting in our outside/garden area March through December
- Visiting with Residents during the week or on weekends.
- Licensed beauticians
- Assist in preparing our Gift Shop
For those interested in volunteering, contact Cindy DeLuca, our volunteer coordinator for more information at (847) 358 -5700 or email volpalatine@littlesistersofthepoor.org.
