Lincoln’s Barkday Bash

By May 31, 2024July 23rd, 2024No Comments

Once again, on May 22, the barktacular celebrations for our favorite four-legged friend, Lincoln, was a howling success! Lincoln, the reigning pawty king of our Little Sisters of the Poor Home in Chicago, celebrated his 5th birthday in style, surrounded by wagging tails and smiling faces.

The excitement began as our Sisters and Residents from St. Joseph’s Home, accompanied by some pawsome pooches of their own, piled into our trusty Little Sisters of the Poor bus and set off for our Little Sister’s Home in the Windy City. Arriving at Lincoln’s abode, our furry entourage joined forces with local neighbors and their canine companions, turning the Chicago Home into a welcoming doggy paradise.

With tails wagging and noses sniffing, approximately 25 dogs of all shapes and sizes romped around the garden, spreading joy and unleashing boundless energy. Lincoln, the guest of honor, was the epitome of canine charm, graciously accepting belly rubs and treats.

Amidst the laughter and barks, the highlight of the day was undoubtedly the indulgent dog friendly birthday cake, lovingly prepared for Lincoln and his furry friends in the Little Sisters’ kitchen. As the dogs devoured their delicious treat, frosting flew and tails wagged with delight, creating memories that will be cherished until next year’s pawty rolls around.

For our Residents, staff, and Little Sisters, the trip was not just a chance to celebrate with Lincoln, but also an opportunity to visit with friends from another Home to share a meal and create great memories. Surrounded by warmth and love from the large community, spirits were lifted, and hearts were filled with gratitude.

As we bid farewell to Lincoln and his pals, we couldn’t help but feel a sense of anticipation for the next chapter of his barkday adventures which our Residents so deeply look forward to! Until then, we’ll hold onto the memories of this woof-tastic celebration and look forward to creating many more in the years to come.
