A Memorial Day Celebration at St. Joseph’s Home

By May 29, 2026No Comments

On Monday, May 25, our Residents, Sisters, and Staff came together to celebrate Memorial Day and honor the brave men and women who have served our country.

The day began with a Memorial Day prayer service outside our Chapel, led by Father Tom. Together, we reflected, prayed, and gave thanks for the sacrifices made by so many throughout our nation’s history, including some of our very own Veteran Residents.

Following the prayer service, we celebrated Mass in our Chapel in honor of all those who served in the Armed Forces.

After Mass, everyone made their way outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and festive Memorial Day cookout on our patio. The Little Sisters fired up the grill and prepared hot dogs and hamburgers, along with homemade potato salad, baked beans, corn, and other delicious favorites.

Most importantly, the afternoon was filled with good food, great company, and plenty of laughter. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to gather, enjoy the holiday, and remember the true meaning of Memorial Day.

We are grateful to all who have served our country and helped protect the freedoms we enjoy each day.
