Each year, our Residents eagerly anticipate the Christmas Gala – a night of festive celebration and heartfelt joy that brings together our community in a truly special way. It’s an event that our Residents look forward to with excitement, as they come dressed in their finest suits and dresses, ready to enjoy a beautiful evening of warmth, fellowship, and delicious food.
This year’s Gala was nothing short of magical. Our Volunteer Coordinator, Cindy, set the tone for the evening with her beautiful piano playing, filling the air with Christmas music and creating an atmosphere of peace and joy. The Franciscian postulants were on hand, guiding each Resident to their seat with care and attention, ensuring that everyone felt welcomed and loved.
A highlight of the night was the incredible dinner, prepared by our dear friends Tony Stallone and Andy Weber, who, along with their families and the wonderful Kitchen Staff, cooked up a delicious surf-and-turf feast. The meal began with a delightful shrimp cocktail and salad, followed by a hearty serving of steak, shrimp, potatoes, and green beans. Residents sipped cocktails and wine, enjoyed cake for dessert, and shared stories and laughter. Many Residents told us it was the best meal they had ever had – and for us, it was a reminder of the true gift of Christmas: the joy of giving and sharing what we have with others.
The Little Sisters were there every step of the way, serving meals, pouring drinks, and tending to every need, all while embodying the spirit of Christmas through their care and compassion.
This event would not have been possible without the support of our community. The generosity of Tony, Andy, Cindy, and so many others who donated their time, talents, and resources is a true reflection of the spirit of Christmas. We are deeply grateful for their support, and for all of you who help make moments like these a reality.
As we reflect on the gifts of this season, we are reminded that the greatest joy comes not from material things, but from the love we share with others. The Christmas Gala is a beautiful reminder of that – of the community, the compassion, and the love that make this time of year so truly special.
