On Friday, October 4, we joyfully celebrated the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment. In honor of this special day, we hosted a pet blessing for the furry, feathered, and fluffy friends of our Residents, staff, volunteers, and neighbors.
Under the beautiful canopy of our underpass, the weather was simply perfect as Father Damien, our beloved chaplain, offered blessings to an array of pets, from dogs and cats to birds and bunnies. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and joy, creating a wonderful opportunity for our Residents and Sisters to interact with these wonderful animals.
This event was not only a chance to celebrate St. Francis but also to foster community and connection. Everyone left with smiles, cherishing the special bond between humans and their pets. We are grateful for this tradition that brings us closer to each other and the creatures we love.
