Recently, we had a fun beach-themed get-together in our auditorium. We had a table of spiked punch and snacks to get everyone in the spirit of a beach outing! In the middle of the room, a volleyball net was set up with a big balloon as the ball. It made for a light and fun game. As the balloon floated unpredictably, our Residents and Staff volleyed the ball over the net with people cheering them on. Laughter filled the room as people joined in and bounced the ball over the net with smiles on their faces.
The Residents really brought the spirit of a beach summer party to our auditorium. People kicked back, relaxed with a drink in hand, cheering on the volleyball players. The whole room felt connected in a way that doesn’t always happen during regular routines.
The beach theme didn’t rely on decorations or big plans; it was fun because everyone came ready to show up, pitch in, and enjoy each other’s company. A simple indoor beach party brought so much joy and laughter to our Home thanks to our community. At St. Joseph’s, community isn’t something we attend; it’s something we create together.
