This past week, our Residents at the Little Sisters of the Poor enjoyed a magical evening filled with nostalgia, laughter, and a touch of Hollywood glamour. In honor of this year’s Academy Awards, Brother Tom hosted an Oscars Night Party, bringing together a group of Residents for an unforgettable celebration.
The party room was transformed into a star-studded affair, adorned with decorations and pictures of beloved actors and actresses from decades past—icons that our Residents fondly remember. As the evening began, Residents eagerly took part in a fun and engaging game, guessing the names of these legendary stars while enjoying a spread of delicious finger foods, including cheese, crackers, and other delightful treats. Of course, no Oscars celebration would be complete without a glass of sparkling cider, raising a toast just as the Hollywood elite do on their big night.
Brother Tom then guided everyone through the excitement of this year’s nominated films, providing brief synopses of each, ensuring that our Residents were in the loop with the latest in cinema. The event then took a competitive turn with a spirited Oscars trivia game, where Residents enthusiastically tested their knowledge of movies, past and present.
The room was filled with joy, laughter, and the warmth of shared memories. It was a night that truly captured the essence of our Home—a place where love, companionship, and celebration are always at the heart of what we do. Thank you to Brother Tom for creating such a special evening, and to our wonderful Residents for bringing the magic to life. Until next year’s Oscars, the memories of this golden night will continue to shine brightly in our hearts!
