Armchair Travel to Germany

By October 2, 2025October 3rd, 2025No Comments

Last week, our Residents embarked on a delightful journey, no passport required! As part of our Armchair Travel series, we “visited” Germany, immersing ourselves in its rich culture, breathtaking landscapes, and sweet culinary traditions.

We began our adventure with a virtual tour of Cologne, one of Germany’s oldest cities. Our Residents marveled at the stunning Gothic architecture of the Cologne Cathedral and enjoyed scenic views of the Rhine River. The video sparked lively conversation, with some residents sharing memories of past travels and other imagining what it would be like to stroll through the city’s cobblestone streets.

Next, we explored Germany’s famous castles, from the fairytale-like Neuschwanstein to the medieval Burg Eltz. The grandeur and history of these fortresses captivated everyone, and the room was filled with awe and curiosity.

To complete our cultural experience, we served homemade Apfelstrudel. Germany’s beloved apple strudel! The warm, flaky pastry filled with spiced apples was a hit, and the sweet aroma added a delicious layer to our journey. Residents enjoyed every bite while chatting about German culture and castles.

These armchair travels allow our Residents to discover new places, connect with each other, and share a sweet treat. Whether reminiscing or learning something new, our Residents are reminded that adventure is always possible, even from the comfort of home.
