Celebrating Brother Martin’s 75 Years of Faithful Service

By February 18, 2026No Comments

What a tremendous grace for our St. Joseph’s Home family to celebrate 75 years of religious profession for our beloved Brother Martin, OFM Conv. For three quarters of a century, he has faithfully lived his Franciscan vocation with humility, simplicity, and deep love for Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother. In 1948, the very year the Marytown community was established, Brother Martin became one of its founding members, and today, he is the last surviving founding member of that cherished community.

For many years, he served at the National Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe at Marytown, a place of Eucharistic Adoration, confession, retreat, and evangelization that has touched countless souls across the country. Brother Martin often reflects on the moments when he faithfully worked in the print shop alongside many Franciscans. Much of his life’s work was carried out behind the scenes, yet its spiritual impact is immeasurable.

Now here at our Home, we are blessed to witness the fruit of those 75 faithful years. His gentle presence, steady prayer, and joyful spirit are a gift to our Residents, Sisters, and staff each day. A Diamond Jubilee is not simply a milestone, it is a lifetime of saying “yes” to God. Brother Martin’s beautiful fidelity continues to inspire us all, and we thank God for the blessing he is to our St. Joseph’s Home family.

Brother Martin can be found sitting in the center of the chapel for Mass, Rosary, and the Divine Mercy Chaplet continuing to live out his faith each and every day.
