A record 380 guests gathered on Sunday, April 19th to ‘Travel Around the World’ With the Little Sisters of the Poor at the Stonegate Banquet Centre in Hoffman Estates. Hot air balloons were the performed form of travel as seen on each table. Each table was designated a country that the Little Sisters have Homes. These unique centerpieces were also accompanied by a flag and statistics of the number of Homes in the country that was represented.
We were honored to have Mr. George Weigel as our guest speaker. He gave a compelling talk, speaking about how the Little Sisters and our Residents are ‘living reminders that there are no disposable human beings.’ Listen to his full talk below.
Performance painter, Elliott From, entertained and dazzled us with his unique speed painting. He was able to create two masterpieces, a Chicago Skyline & a Chicago Balckhawk unbeknownst to most of us (even though we were watching his every move) until the reveal at the very end of his performance.
Please mark your calendars for Saturday, April 23, 2016 as we welcome Archbishop Blaise J. Cupich as our guest speaker when we celebrate St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly’s 50th Anniversary in Palatine and 140 Years in Chicago at next year’s Amazing Grace Gala.
We are very grateful to all those who supported our Gala. You truly did make a difference.
